5 Bedroom House with Pool
Large lot, Pond, 2-Car Garage
Everyone who has stayed with us at "Twenty Atlantic" over the past seven years has remarked on how quiet and peaceful it is, a relaxing and inspiring place to live, work, relax, or all of the above. (Now we are relocating and must sell.)
Located in the "Ancient City" of Saint Augustine on Florida's idyllic Atlantic Coast, this house is situated on land that was once part of an indigo plantation established by the Governor of East Florida in 1769. Indeed, the property is less than half a mile from where Ponce de leon first landed in 1513 and within site of historic Fort Mose, the first free black settlement in America.
We think you will find it is a perfect location to vacation or to be a work-at-home executive, or commute to Jacksonville. This property is a rare slice of "Old Florida" with a huge yard dotted with majestic live oaks and magnolias, looking out over a private pond toward wetlands full of wildlife, all tucked away in a quiet corner of a friendly town that enjoys a much milder climate than Miami, Orlando, or the Florida Keys.

Enter the long driveway via a secluded neighborhood and be transported to a place of natural beauty, peace and quiet, hidden among the trees, frequented by heron, stork, ducks, osprey, eagles and all manner of other birds. Park in the two-car garage. Enter via the great room (20x30) with its beamed ceiling and heart pine floors.
Enjoy living in the relaxed, art-rich ambience of Saint Augustine, the historic heart of which is less than two miles away. Dine at the many excellent restaurants, or fix a meal in the well-appointed kitchen with its Corian counters and hickory-faced cabinets.
Sit and sip your wine on the patio or on the front porch, poolside or in the spa. Express yourself in the detached studio space or the library. Have friends to stay (there are five bedrooms including a master bedroom with walk-in closet).
Explore the historic sites or stroll the art galleries. Hang out in one of the many coffee shops in what has to be the most unique city center in America. (It has such a strong Spanish and Latin American look that the film version of The Celestine Prophecy, much of which takes place in Peru, was shot here.)
For exercise and adventure slip your kayak into the creek at the end of the road and paddle out as far as you like. There are miles of salt marshes where dolphins and manatee can be seen--and the fly fishing is excellent. You can travel the Intracostal to Jacksonville or head out into the Atlantic.
Put your boat in the water at the nearby boat ramp with direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. Or head to the surf and sugar sand beaches of Vilano, less than two miles away. Play golf? You are just a few miles from Royal St. Augustine, World Golf Village (The Slammer and the Squire,
The King and the Bear), TPC at Sawgrass, and more.
Need to commute? Land your jet or seaplane at the municipal airport (SGJ) just a few miles up the road from your estate (SGJ can even handle your 747). Or commute to anywhere from Jacksonville International (JAX) less than an hour away.
By road, this property is just 10 minutes from Interstate 95, but if you're heading to Amelia Island, Fernandina, or Daytona (all under 60 miles) consider cruising historic A1A, in your convertible, or on your Harley or Ducati.
